Pets and Seniors

According to a study published in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society, seniors who own pets are less subject to depression than are their non-pet owning peers. They are more active than are non-pet owners, visit the doctor less often, and seem to have a better outlook on the future.     Studies have also shown that Alzheimer patients tend to have fewer anxiety attacks if there is an animal in the house.
