Another Psychic Test ~Based on the Zenner Card Test~
The scientific study of psychic ability is believed to have started with Henry Sidgwick at Cambridge University in England, who effectively exposed charlatans between 1873 and 1880. The next forty years saw the study of psychic ability take on a scientific entity.
In the 1920's, perceptual psychologist Dr. Karl Zenner of Duke University, North Carolina, devised a card test for use in extrasensory perception (ESP) experiments.
Originally, the Zenner Card Test consisted of 25 cards - five cards of each symbol (circle, cross, square, star, waves). One person, known as the sender (or tester) shuffles the cards to randomize the order. This person then mentally sends the top card (symbol) facing him to a second person - known as the percipient. This second person, testing for psychic ability, then tries to guess the card
(symbol). An experiment may require the sender and percipient to go through the 25 cards several times. The number of correct guesses determines psychic ability.
In this interactive psychic test you have to choose the card (symbol) you think I have chosen through the computer. You will be shown how many cards you have guessed, how many were correct and the possibility of getting your score com- pletely by chance.
To begin, just click on one of the buttons beneath the symbol cards. Two boxes below the buttons will tell you if you are correct, and how many guesses you have made. Continue guessing until you have chosen 100 cards. Then read your percentage of correct guesses. Next, click the "Psychic Test Results" button. Concurrent with the Law of Averages, you should choose correctly at least 20% of the time. Psychic ability is not needed to guess correctly once out of five guesses when you have five cards to choose from. However, guessing correctly 33% of the time will exhibit evidence of psychic ability. For further details, click on the "Instructions" button below.
Tip: Clear your mind of all other thoughts. Look at the symbols. Close your eyes and concentrate. Open your eyes and choose the symbol most prevalent in your mind.
